Class Homework
Students will read their "Just Right" level reading book for a minimum of 20 minutes each night. In addition, most nights students will be working on a short amount of math. Students will practice the math skills taught in class that day and parents will be able to see the most recent concepts taught. |
Grading
Daily work is graded with the following: Check Plus = Outstanding Check = Satisfactory Check Minus = Needs Improvement Percentage grades will be given for: •Math pre-test and post-test •Science tests Post-tests will require a signature and need to be returned back to school for report card purposes. |
Corrected Class Work
Work will be sent home in the Purple Folder approximately every 2-3 weeks. Please empty the contents and return the folder to school the next morning.. Some work is kept in the classroom to display or refer to during conference or report card periods. |
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Conferences for the 2018-2019 will be individualized with the student's family. Students will be in attendance for the initial portion of the meeting and then the teacher will meet with parents without the student for the remaining portion. Conferences will be held the week of 10/23- 10/27. It will be a minimum day schedule. |
Birthdays
There are no food treats due to allergy and health concerns. You are more than welcome to purchase a book to donate to the classroom. We will give your child special pencil and make them a birthday book. Both classes will join to sing happy birthday! We will celebrate the summer birthdays before school lets out in June. |
Tardies and Absences
Tardies If your child is late, they will need to get a late slip from Mrs. Olazar in the office prior to coming into the class.
